The week's fund-industry signal, curated: fund launches and closes, manager and servicer moves, and figures from our own registers. Every trade-press item links its source and ends with why it matters to someone who runs or services funds. Trade-press items are published only after every cited source was machine-verified; register figures are computed from the published data files. This is a dated, permanent edition — it is not updated after publication; corrections land in the changelog.

Blackstone has held the final close of Blackstone Energy Transition Partners V at $8.7bn, more than 50% larger than its predecessor vehicle. The fund was significantly oversubscribed and reached its hard cap. BETP V began its investment period in June and has already funded three platform companies, Kindle, Fisterra and Viridon. They back management teams that develop and operate new power generation and electric transmission lines, and the fund has also made three acquisitions focused on energy efficiency and resiliency. Blackstone puts the strategy's net IRR at 34% since 1997, as of 30 June. Global head David Foley said the firm sees a generational opportunity for experienced energy-transition investors, given the challenges posed by growing demand for electricity.

The extended hours, which give firms longer to input and match transactions, are aimed in particular at APAC and other regions more adversely affected by time zones. Euroclear's T+1 business lead, Charlie Pugh, urged firms to start using them early, a year ahead of the 11 October 2027 switch in the UK, EU and Switzerland. Separately, the EU's new allocation and confirmation requirements for investment firms and their clients take effect on 7 December 2026.
