Fund Data

The numbers behind the industry·400,000+ searchable funds·271,000+ UK entities·32,000+ providers·every table sourced & dated

The numbers behind the industry — search the funds themselves, map who runs them, inspect the wider UK entity population, and see how pensions perform. Every table states its source, its date, and its gaps.

Search the funds

One box over the whole register — type a fund's name, map its service providers, or come from the provider side.

Search the fund register ↓

Coverage is stated beside every result — deepest for the US, the UK, Ireland and Luxembourg. Search the wider UK entity evidence ↓

Search the funds we actually hold, in one box, each labelled by the source it comes from. Coverage is deepest for the US (SEC), the UK (Companies House), Ireland (CBI) and Luxembourg (CSSF), with Bermuda and the British Virgin Islands too — and Cayman, Jersey, Guernsey and many more domiciles searchable by name. The count beside your results tells you how many we really have; the same fund can appear once under each source that lists it. Type a name — matches are prefix, so black finds Blackstone. Or paste a share-class code (ISIN) — the 12-character identifier on a statement or term sheet — and we name the fund behind it, from the GLEIF global register's code mapping.

The search shows one name at a time — behind it sits the full register. Email us if you're interested in the complete dataset for a domicile or segment.

Where the searchable names come from

The 478,083 fund names in the search box, by originating regulator list. These slices don't overlap (one source per name), so this is an honest composition — US Form ADV and the EU register carry it; the offshore lists are only partially reachable. Coverage caveat is under the chart.

Where the searchable fund names come from, by source. Coverage is deep for the US (Form ADV, cumulative to 2024, plus new Form D offerings from 2025), the UK (Companies House), the EU (ESMA) and Ireland (Central Bank), with Cayman, Jersey, Guernsey and many more domiciles searchable by name via the GLEIF global register. The same fund can appear once under each source that lists it, so read this as searchable names by source, not a de-duplicated fund universe. UK entity evidence — 271,000+ entities

The fund-level search above is deliberately narrow. This second search keeps the wider UK Companies House population visible, but groups every match by what the public data actually supports. These groups are not additive fund counts: a limited partnership may be fund-capable without being a fund, while a holding company or SPV is context rather than proof of a fund relationship.

18,000+ Confirmed fund Fund-vehicle classification, or an exact Companies House-number link to a GLEIF fund LEI.
60,000+ Fund-capable partnership Limited-partnership legal form, sometimes with a GP/LP shape or name signal. Not proof it is a fund.
137,000+ Holding / SPV context Holding-company or SPV classification retained for entity context. No fund relationship is asserted.

Source: UK Companies House Basic Company Data, published 1 August 2026 under the Open Government Licence; GLEIF provides exact company-number-to-LEI confirmation where shown. The industry classification is self-declared and may be stale or wrong. Companies House “Active” is a filing status, not proof that an entity is operational, and this is not an FCA authorisation register.

Search returns a 20-row sample and the true count in each evidence group. Email us if you need the full evidence-labelled UK dataset.

Fund structure & ownership network

A different question from "who runs a fund": how is it structured, and — where the record is public — who ultimately owns it. Search a fund, a manager or a Scottish limited partnership and the map shows the entities layered around it on the way to its ultimate owner — the manager that runs it, the umbrella or master fund it belongs to, the corporate group it is consolidated into (up to the ultimate group parent), and — where the UK register names them — its beneficial owners. Two public sources sit behind this, kept separate and labelled:

  • Structure & group, from the GLEIF global entity register — a fund to its manager, a sub-fund to its umbrella, a feeder to its master, and — where the entities appear in that register — the corporate group parent it is consolidated into, up to the ultimate group parent. Global, only where a fund is in the register, so coverage is partial; these are declared relationships, not a claim of control. Note: a fund that is an "investment entity" in accounting terms holds what it invests in at fair value — so the companies and SPVs in its portfolio are not consolidated and are not shown here. This maps the entity's ownership layers, not its investment holdings.
  • Ownership, from the UK register — a UK-registered entity on the map to its public persons of significant control (its beneficial owners). This covers Scottish limited partnerships — the one UK fund vehicle whose owners are public — and UK-registered managers and general partners (LLPs and companies), so the owner rung can sit above a UK manager as well as above the partnership itself. UK-only: English LPs file none, and entities registered outside the UK have no equivalent public record — no owner layer is shown for them. It is a declared ownership statement (>25% or equivalent), not proof of ultimate economic ownership — and because the register names only owners above that threshold, the absence of a name is not evidence of no controlling interest (ownership split below 25% between several people names none of them). Each owner is shown with the date the register was read, and a route to request a correction.

The full structure and ownership graph — every fund a manager runs, every sub-fund under an umbrella, the whole group tree up to the ultimate parent — is a dataset in its own right. Email us if you need the complete picture.

The provider network

Every fund runs on a family of service providers — an auditor, a custodian, a prime broker, an administrator, a marketer — plus the controlling adviser that files its Form ADV. Search a fund to see its network, and the other funds in the same family (same adviser). Coverage is US Form ADV (728,000+ fund ↔ provider/adviser links across 165,000+ funds and 32,000+ distinct providers, names deduplicated), so it's deepest for US, Cayman and Delaware vehicles. This is each fund's latest Form ADV filing, cumulative 2011–2024. Form ADV carries no fund-status field, so we derive whether each fund is still live — its adviser is still SEC-registered and its latest filing is in the final data year — and dim the funds that look wound down. It's a derived hint, not a regulator status.

This maps who runs a fund (its service providers) and its controlling adviser — not who owns it. For ownership layers — the corporate group and, where public, the beneficial owners — see the structure & ownership network above. A fund's own investment holdings (the companies and SPVs it invests in) remain a separate dataset; let us know if that's what you need.

A fund family's complete provider map — or every fund an adviser controls — exists as a dataset. Email us if you're interested in the full picture.

Or search by provider

Coming from the other direction — search an auditor, custodian, administrator, prime broker or marketer to see every fund it serves. For the big brands we roll the whole network up across their member firms worldwide — every PwC (or KPMG, EY, State Street…) entity rolls up into one result, with its combined footprint shown.

A provider's complete book — every fund it audits, administers or custodies — is more than one search can show. Email us if you're interested in the full list.

Sources: SEC EDGAR & Form ADV, ESMA/CBI/CSSF registers, BMA/CIMA/BVI/JFSC/GFSC fund lists; UK Companies House fund vehicles (register snapshot) and the GLEIF global entity register for fund names, their manager/umbrella/feeder structure and the share-class code (ISIN) mapping; UK Companies House Persons with Significant Control for the owners of UK-registered entities (Scottish LPs and UK managers/GPs — English LPs file none). Dates shown are each source's own published date, never our snapshot date · Provider network from SEC Form ADV (each fund's latest filing, cumulative 2011–2024; includes since-closed funds) · Coverage: the provider network is US-first (SEC disclosure); the structure network is only where a fund is in the GLEIF register; the datasets aren't cross-linked (no shared fund key), so a name in one may not appear in another · Also here: pensions (publicplansdata.org, non-commercial-use) and US registrations. Where data is private we say so.
