Dated and permanent — an edition is never rewritten after publication; corrections land in its changelog.

The week's fund-industry signal, curated: fund launches and closes, manager and servicer moves, and figures from our own registers. Every trade-press item links its source and ends with why it matters to someone who runs or services funds. Trade-press items are published only after every cited source was machine-verified; register figures are computed from the published data files. This is a dated, permanent edition — it is not updated after publication; corrections land in the changelog.

AltAssets · 2026-09-18

Global

Portage has closed its fourth flagship venture fund on about $600m, slightly below the $655m raised by its predecessor four years ago. It still grew its wider investment platform to $7bn in assets under management. The smaller fund is a minor setback for the fintech specialist.

51 of 248 US public plans earned less over 10 years than they assume going forward

Public Plans Database · plan FYs 2022–2025

North America

Comparing each plan's own assumed return with its own reported 10-year investment return, 51 plans fall short of their assumption; the widest gap is New Orleans (LA) Firefighters (Louisiana): 7.50% assumed vs -0.92% earned. Ten-year windows smooth but don't settle the argument — both figures are the plans' own.
