Dated and permanent — an edition is never rewritten after publication; corrections land in its changelog.
The week's fund-industry signal, curated: fund launches and closes, manager and
servicer moves, and figures from our own registers. Every trade-press item links its
source and ends with why it matters to someone who runs or services funds. Trade-press
items are published only after every cited source was machine-verified; register
figures are computed from the published data files. This is a dated, permanent
edition — it is not updated after publication; corrections land in the changelog.
Tasman Capital expects its fourth Australian buyout fund, at A$200m, to be largely deployed by its final close in March. Reaching near-full deployment as fundraising ends points to a manager committing capital quickly rather than holding dry powder.
CI Capital is launching Egypt's first equity hedge fund, targeting EGP250m in its first year. It follows a new Financial Regulatory Authority framework that only opened the country to hedge funds last month. The fund will add derivatives, margin and short selling once the market allows — tools Egyptian mutual funds cannot use.
Pluto Finance's eighth lending vehicle has passed £500m in commitments and £1bn in total financing, and is now pushing into Europe. The evergreen fund lends to UK property developers and housebuilders; Pluto wants a fifth of financing from Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain and Portugal. It has arranged more than £4bn since 2011, two-thirds of it to repeat borrowers.
Cinven has closed its second Strategic Fund at €2.3bn, about 50% above its target and about 75% larger than its predecessor, the Strategic Financials Fund. The strategy takes control stakes in high-growth, asset-light mid-market companies in financial services, business services and TMT — smaller targets than Cinven's large-cap buyout flagship.
Claret Capital has closed its fourth growth-debt fund at €440m, about 50% larger than its predecessor. It is a steady scale-up of a European growth-lending franchise now on its fourth vintage.
Brookfield has won a $1bn multi-asset mandate from the UK Nuclear Liabilities Fund. The NLF is the state pool that funds decommissioning Britain's nuclear stations. The money spans infrastructure, energy, private equity, real estate and private credit, run by Brookfield's Investment Solutions Group — the outsourced-CIO arm it launched last year. For a manager of Brookfield's size the sum is small. The signal is the mandate type: a segregated brief for a public liability fund, and an early win for that young unit.
Bridgepoint Credit has moved a €1.2bn portfolio of European direct-lending loans into a continuation vehicle led by Pantheon. Investors in the 2017-vintage fund behind it can cash out or roll into the new vehicle. Pantheon is the anchor: it has now put about $4.6bn into 63 European private credit secondaries since 2018.
ICG Infra is buying Westerleigh Group, the UK's largest private crematoria and cemeteries operator, from Ontario Teachers' and USS, which have owned it since 2016. The price was not disclosed. It is an early deal from ICG's second infrastructure fund, which closed at €3.15bn last year.

APRA's fund-level insurance collection covers 83 funds: premiums collected, claims paid and per-cover admittance rates, insurer by insurer. Across each fund's weakest cover type, the median 1-year claims admittance rate is 89% — roughly one finalised claim in ten declined. Only 2 funds place cover with a related-group insurer. Per-fund rates are on the fund pages.
Changelog
Publication and corrections (3 entries) · latest 2026-10-03
2026-10-03 — corrected: Cinven Strategic Fund 2 — "€1.5bn target" was our own calculation, not a figure Cinven gave → "about 50% above its target", as Cinven reports.
2026-10-03 — corrected: removed an unsourced assets-under-management figure ("roughly $1.3tn") for Brookfield; the cited report gives none.
