SFDR and Taxonomy disclosure deadlines

Deadlines: the full filing calendar · the regulation library · practical guides

SFDR has one hard calendar date. The rest ride on other filings. The firm-level statement is due at midyear; the product disclosures travel inside the annual report. In the EU it is next due 30 June 2027 (prior year: 30 June 2026) for preceding calendar year (1 January – 31 December). Source: EUR-Lex Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1288 (SFDR RTS), Art. 6. It lands on the AIFM or management company.

What is SFDR and Taxonomy disclosure?

SFDR is the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. It makes fund managers show how they handle sustainability risk and impact. It works at two levels: the manager as a firm, and each product it sells. The Taxonomy Regulation adds a test of how green a fund's holdings are (SFDR technical standards).

What is in the report

At firm level, the principal adverse impact statement, or PAI, reports the harm a manager's investments do. At product level, a light-green Article 8 fund or a dark-green Article 9 fund shows how it met its claims. The Taxonomy alignment figure sits alongside.

Who files, who prepares, who receives

The manager makes the disclosures. That means the AIFM or management company. The PAI statement sits on the manager's website. The product disclosures sit inside each fund's annual report. The European Supervisory Authorities write the standards behind them.

This page carries 4 confirmed deadlines for SFDR and Taxonomy disclosure, each with the date its own regulator publishes.

Common mistakes

The PAI statement is comply-or-explain below a size threshold and mandatory above it. A growing manager can cross into scope without noticing. The product disclosures are not a separate filing: they live in the annual report, so they share its deadline and its audit risk. And an Article 9 fund carries a heavier evidence burden than an Article 8 one. Relabelling to dodge it is what regulators now police.

Questions this page answers

When is the SFDR PAI statement due?

The firm-level PAI statement is due 30 June 2027 (prior year: 30 June 2026), and it covers the preceding calendar year. It sits on the manager's own website, not with a regulator.

When are the Article 8 and Article 9 disclosures due?

The product disclosures are not standalone: Rides on the fund's annual report (UCITS 4 months, AIFMD 6 months after financial year-end). So a UCITS discloses within four months of year-end, and an AIF within six.

Is the EU Taxonomy disclosure separate from SFDR?

In practice it is one exercise: Rides on the SFDR periodic (annual) report (UCITS 4 months, AIFMD 6 months after financial year-end). The Taxonomy alignment figure appears in the same periodic report as the SFDR disclosure.

Who has to publish a PAI statement?

Any manager over the SFDR size threshold must. Smaller managers explain why they do not. The statement covers the firm's whole book, not one fund.

Every date on this page is the date its own source states, linked in the table. Where a deadline runs from the entity's own year end, the rule is the answer and any date shown beside it is a worked example for a 31 December year end. Rows also appear in the filing calendar, which is the same register.
