Regulator annual fee deadlines by jurisdiction
Deadlines: the full filing calendar · the regulation library · practical guides
Fee dates cluster in January and the first quarter, and they are the deadlines with the fastest consequence. A struck-off vehicle is a worse morning than a late report. Each jurisdiction sets its own date. The table below lists every one we hold, with the date its own regulator publishes and a link to it.
What is the annual regulator fee?
An annual regulator fee keeps a fund's authorisation alive for another year. It is separate from the company or registry fee, which keeps the legal entity in good standing: two different bodies, two different bills. Miss either and the fund can be struck off or lose its authorisation (CIMA fees).
Who files, who prepares, who receives
The registered fund or the licensed entity pays. The registered office provider usually handles it, which is exactly why it drops between two parties when a fund changes provider mid-year. The fee goes to the regulator: CIMA, the BMA, the BVI FSC, the Jersey registry or the FCA.
This page carries 8 confirmed deadlines for the annual regulator fee, each with the date its own regulator publishes.

Common mistakes
A regulator fee and a registry fee are different bills from different bodies, and paying one does not settle the other. A lapsed regulatory registration does not dissolve the company, and a struck-off company is a separate event from losing fund status. In several jurisdictions the penalty is a percentage surcharge that escalates monthly, so a forgotten invoice compounds.
Questions this page answers
When is the CIMA annual fee due?
15 January 2027 (prior year: 15 January 2026) for a registered mutual or private fund. It is the earliest of the offshore fee dates, and it falls while most teams are still closing the prior year.
When is the Bermuda Monetary Authority annual fund fee due?
31 March 2027 (assumed; prior year: 31 March 2026) for a Bermuda fund. The BVI licence renewal and the registrar's company fee are separate bills, and our date for those is not yet from the regulator's own page.
When is the FCA annual fee due?
1 August 2027 (prior year: 1 August 2026) for firms below the fifty thousand pound threshold, unless invoiced later. Larger firms pay an on-account instalment from 1 April 2027 (prior year: 1 April 2026) instead.
Is the regulator fee the same as the registry fee?
No. They are separate bills from separate bodies, often with different dates. Paying the regulator does not keep the company in good standing on the register.
